In our first invitational of the year, our girls did an awesome job, with the 7th grade team finishng 1st and the 8th grade team finishing 4th out of 14 schools competing. See the final results below:

Okaw Valley Conference Girls Meet @ Sullivan 4-29-13
We did well at the conference meet in Sullivan, but unfortunately did not come away with a championship. The girls did compete hard last night and earned a lot of personal records.

@ Sullivan Quad Meet 5-6-13
We did well at the last small meet of the season, competing against Mattoon, Charleston, and Shelbyville. Our girls earned a lot of personal records and one school record was broken!!! The 4X400 team of Laine Cameron, Natalie Drury, Haley Rose, and Lizzie Green set a new school record with a time of 4:40.10!!!

@ Sectionals in Effingham 5-14-13
Our girls did very well at the sectional track meet on Saturday! Our 7th grade girls finished in 4th place overall. Laine Cameron qualified for state after getting second in the hurdles, in which she also set a new school record with a time of 16.83! Our 4X400 team of Laine Cameron, Natalie Drury, Haley Rose, and Lizzie Green qualified for state after getting first place and resetting the school record with a time of 4:35.65!
Lizzie Green qualified for the 400 after finishing second with a time of 1:04.46, and Zoe Ray qualified in the long jump after getting second place with a jump of 14'6.5". These girls along with Luke Bowman, who qualified in the long jump and high jump, will compete at the state meet this Friday and Saturday. Luke also set a new school record in the high jump with a jump of 5'8"! Bailey Turnbaugh will also be going to the state meet as an alternate for the 4X400 relay. @ IESA State Track Meet in East Peoria
Our middle school track athletes had a great weekend at the IESA state track meet in East Peoria. The highlight of the performances was Luke Bowman earning a state championship in the 7th grade boys high jump!!! Luke jumped 5'6" to earn the top spot on the podium. Luke also jumped 16'4.5" to earn 24th in long jump. In the girls' events Laine Cameron ran a 17.98 to finish 21st in the 7th grade hurdles, Lizzie Green ran a 105.25 in the 7th grade 400 to earn 22nd place, Zoe Ray jumped 14'1.75" in the 7th grade long jump to finish in 18th place, and the 7th grade 4X400 relay team of Laine Cameron, Natalie Drury, Haley Rose, and Lizzie Green reset their school record with a time of 4:33.43 to earn 21st place. Bailey Turnbaugh also earned a spot on the state team as an alternate for the relay. We are extremely proud of these athletes and all of our athletes for all of their hard work and accomplishments this season!
